Album Review/ Alt Pop : Burnt Soul’s ‘Eternal Distance’
Burnt Soul is an alt pop/ indie rock banner whose sound forms where the experimental meets the explorative. The artist’s music is full of dynamic ideas that are smoothly reconciled into unique worlds of sound. ‘Eternal Distance’ is Burnt Soul’s latest album, a collection that explores moments of human experience. With dark pop elements and resonant rock flows, the artist creates dimension and spectacular perspective across the album. We see a lot of cinematic features, theatrical moments that make it more immersive. The artist gets into themes like love, friendship, loneliness, heartache, human connection; all of it leading to memories and nocturnal frames.
‘Grey Stone Walls’ open the album. The blend of synth pop, slapping beats, and dreary, cold vocals brings the imagery of the title to life. There’s a performative proficiency across the song. With vocals dedicated to the theme in ways that do it justice, drive it deep and keep it active. We see it in the tracks, ‘in control, and ‘insomnia’ also. A similar rhythm and pace, vocal style as of framing the litany of songs within the album.
In songs like ‘Eternal’, ‘Exhileration’, and ‘Transience’ the remarkable moments arise out of the energetic flow. The beats slap, the synth work fills the whole soundscape with electric color and grand energy. It makes you feel these concepts viscerally. The expanse of the first, the peak of the second, and the fluidity of the third. You’ll find yourself transformed by the tracks, aligned with the consciousness of these tracks.
‘Let’s Play Pretend’ and ‘Four Walls’ have more of a rock personality. The riffs seem to lift out of the soundscape with a dazing smoke. In that you’ll experience an indie rock atmosphere. Winding synths, layered with disco beats, warm molten guitar, and vocal slates floating through the track.
The collection seems so outwordly, as if lost to its reality. It’s incredible how the artist takes melancholy and makes it into a whole imaginative space. He feeds it to a point of romanticism and grandeur, and it’s the best album to be sad to. Listen Now!
