Album Review/ Classic Rock : Creative Vibrations Music’s ‘Sunday Bummer’

Creative Vibrations Music is the music label of Pete Sahaidachny (Sah-high-dotch-knee), an American composer & songwriter. The banner spans across the classic rock spectrum, exploring notions and nuances of the genre in remarkable ways. He loops in influences from across rock history, edging across experimental planes and immersing in class styles. It’s rich. Their latest release is ‘Sunday Bummer’, an album that you can spend your Sunday afternoons with. It has the perfect energy, grit and drama to engage you thoroughly. The collection has 13 songs, each one switching up on us, being its own energy, doing its own thing.

‘The Way’, the opening track has a retro make, emphatic with big textures, shuffling grooves, and chopping beats. The vocals are charismatic with that familiar baritonal timbre and sharing an undeniable camaraderie with the rest of the soundscape. This is instantly followed by ‘Problems’, a wayward, experimental track that will take you through a psychedelic sludge of rock expression. A stoner rock appeal that stands by itself. ‘Hero’ on the other hand is a soft rock song, so expressive and evocative. The vocals are vulnerable and disarmingly so. Romantic and almost dreamy in its melancholy.

Like this every track holds its own energy, claiming its space in a terrific way. ‘Information Overload’ explores the evils of modern technology as we interact with it. So affectingly despondent with an air of resigned contemplation. ‘Reel Me Back In’ has that retro power with blues powered classic rock. The vocals form deeply, each word seemingly steeped in the thematic emotion.

It’s how the artist plays around with classic rock, raising it and reducing it to wrap around the thematic emotions. Employing alternative frames, he draws melodic parallels and establishes sound themes. ‘Loop Sequence’, an instrumental interlude, has such a refreshing sound. So easy, effortless and interesting. ‘Palace in the Sky’ follows this flowing pattern, twinkling with rock blues that lightens the mind with imagination and chromatism.

‘Messages’ casts a dazing spell, splashy basslines, slow lazy grooves and dilated vocals. ‘Voice in Your Heart’ is an acoustic rock special, so delicious in its style and make. It is heartfelt and so memorable, especially in the ways the grooves from soft valleys. Ending with ‘Groove Process’, an undeniably retro pop rock song. Uplifting beats, fresh vocal splashes and a performance that ends this all in the right way. The perfect end to such an interesting album. Listen Now!
