Album Review/ Hyperpop : Glitch Armour’s ‘Love.exe’

Glitch Armour is a banner that explores candy hearts, romantic notions, and love with an electric pulse. With glitch core, some emo, and a whole lot of modern electro pop, we get to fly through dynamic, fun, hypercute, and technicolor electro high. It is so undeniably girly, with a cool electro punk edge that you cannot put away and forget. It has that radiating ripple effect. With larger than life, colorful, darting electro sonics, the whole thing is a world apart from reality.

Her latest release is ‘Love.exe’, an album that is all kinds of endearing and cute. It is marked by its colorful melodies, ripples, darting patterns, explosive textures, and a vocal line that drifts with an autotune flight. There are so many inventive, experimental, and novel elements. She captures the modern love, futuristic in its aesthetic. Even the worlds she creates around the feeling is so electronic, like an e-girl frame that you can over feel and over share with.

‘Je t’aime. corrupted’ opens the album with its flighty vocals, synth levels, drifting grooves, and punch dance beats. There’s a lot of flashing melodies, catchy hooks, and an air of spontaneity that tips us over in the best way possible.

The imagery on these songs are so fresh. It’s as if they are leaping out of the track, vivid and swirling, darting and playing, loving and laughing. While the emo-glitch-electro pop aesthetic is all about the intense, jittery, and hardcore, this artist gives us a duality. She gives us the fun with the heartache, the light with the heavy. You’ll see it in tracks like ‘404 : Emotions not found’, ‘Delete my Feelings’ and some others. With drum n bass blending with colorful electro pop, bursting at the seams, but also dancing and toying with everything around it. You’ll see intense arcs, hardcore, pulling you in but just as swiftly, you can escape it, fly above it and enjoy its energy.

These tracks are like a sugar rush, that fangirl peak poured into music, delivered with a tongue in cheek edge and futuristic flirting. ‘Bubblegun Heart’ with its spraying beats, dispersing visuals, and fountain vocals is like being shot by the modern Cupid’s arrow. ‘Pixel Tears’ is vivid and vibrant. The beats are dynamic, a signature feature which is layered with reversing grooves, deep heartache paired with visual escapism and fun delusions.

‘Softboy.exe’ and ‘Hyperheart Crush’ rise into you. So colorful and stimulating, it’s like walking into an arcade and having it all light you up. To a point where you become a part of it. That electric energy, with beeping tones and giddy euphoria has that effect. Concluding with the title track, the album is wrapped up with a hyper glitch pop burst. It’s like fireworks all over, there’s no other way to describe it. Taking over the whole scene, it gets to be everything that you want from love, romance, and boys. And it is such a boost, like you’ve gotten a refreshing B12 shot. It’s the best! Listen Now!
