EP Review/ Electro Pop : LVSA’s ‘Afterlight’

LVSA is an electronic music project that makes electric and innovative music highways. It’s incredible how they conceptualize ideas and feelings into music, creating a vivid and immersive listening experience. Their latest release is the ‘Afterlight’ EP, a collection of electronic tracks that showcases an imaginative plane. It’s as if each one reveals a scene, a piece of the afterlight world. Full of wonder, color, and new ideas. 

The EP begins with ‘Getaway’, a track that is just about a smooth escape. You and your car, just revving through empty roads. The track is meant to encapsulate the solitude, the visuals of light contrasting with the darkness of the night. Of the state of mind, and of the joy of driving your car. The song is made as a drift. It just keeps on going into infinity, rolling out like a carpet. An endless highway that you can just keep going. The melodies are imaginative. The basslines have a kick to them and the progression is mellow but memorable. 

‘Hold The Lane’ is made with a similar concept. It’s a soft drift that feels like a visual hyperbole. You’re swung into this world of feeling and imagination. And it keeps building up and growing bigger and bigger. The relationship between the listener and reality changes and goes into a surreal space. It’s beautiful. ‘Acropolis Pt. II’ is the kind of song that builds as you go. The melodies and bass lines are used to create an incredible sense of space. You can almost imagine the city that is coming into being. The track scales beautifully, and is all about slow, measured and natural evolution. Again, it’s the kind of song that absorbs you into its ethos and makes you part of the creative process. 

The title track is its own kind of song. It is a house pop song that is made with roaming basslines, fun beats, and intoxicating ribbons of melody. There is dance, romance, and the magic of love in the air. The vocals just spread out into the song, sweet and fresh. We see some jazz saxophones lifting into this atmosphere, bringing a sensual mood into the mix. ‘In Another Life’ is the other track in this EP that has vocals. The rhythm is chill and ever growing. It’s almost as if it is expanding. And with it, it opens up the melodies, taking it to such creative heights. 

All the tracks in the album are made with a sense of magic. It is meant to transport the listener to a different world. So if you want to zone into your solirude, given it a sense of dimension, depth and visual color, then this is the best EP for you.
