EP Review/ Nu Metal : Watch Me Die Inside’s ‘Infinity Fall III’

Watch Me Die Inside is an alt banner with an incredibly dramatic style. The soundscapes are marked by their immersive nature and cinematic swirls, creating powerful moments of feeling. Listening to their music is like diving into ocean’s deep ocean and being consumed by that energy. It’s explorative and driving, with strong currents that take over. Their latest release is ‘Infinity Fall III’, a three track EP that showcases the grandeur of their music. This does not come about just with style. It’s the mood they create, the instrumental depth that they present and of course the vocal power.

The EP opens with ‘Uneasy’, a track that opens with a reflective mood. Floating piano melodies are cultivated into a pensive whirlpool with drum work and the vocals. It is a slow lift that hits an emotional peak mid-track. And from then on, the track changes. With breakbeats and a dark electronic atmosphere, the listening experience deepens. The rap verses tear through this atmosphere, anchored to the lighter dimensions by a dotted, electric motif.

‘Boring’ follows. It’s the second song of the EP. To demonstrate the theme, the track is made expansive and endless like the ocean. An exploration of not just boredom but ennui in a passionate vocal raise. The piano melodies are simple but they linger, staining the soundscape with feeling. Which the vocals take to intense levels of expression. The nu metal vocals and the vocal screams open up a stormy sky in the song that just makes the soundscape infinite. The theme gets to be perceived in a whole different plane.

‘Infinity Fall III’, the title track concludes the EP. It has a light vocal flow. Its melodic rock intro is surrounded by piano keys, fluttering about with a spontaneous rhythm. There's a little bit of a jazz character to them, which is matched by the beat work. The vocals start to slowly gain a nu metal intensity crescending with screamo moments before it drops down to that melodic lament and emo melodrama. With frames of explorative vocals mixed in with dynamism and intensity, the track nicely wraps up the listening experience of this collection. Listen Now!
