Robbie Rapids Delivers a Funk Frilled Country Rock in ‘Fishing The River’

Robbie Rapids is an eccentric and edgy singer-songwriter and rock artist from Grand Rapids, MI. His tracks are marked, more than by melody, by texture, patterns, interesting rhythms, and energy. That’s the first thing you’ll pick up. His ethos is so distinct and unique that you can catch it almost instantly. And there’s a 60s charisma in the way he interprets music and its concepts. Robbie Rapids has just released his latest single, ‘Fishing The River’.

The dominant style is country-rock but it is glamorized with frills of funk and bluesy harmonica segments. Robbie’s vocals and the beats are set up for a narrative track. The lyrics allude to a simple childhood memory when cousin Jim came home for the summer and they fished in the river and the conversations that they had. The perspective forms however in the extending soundscape. We see alt rock and classic rock frames that progressively distill the theme. Listen Now!

The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
