Song Review/ Alt Pop : Exzenya’s ‘Drunk Texting’

pop

Exzenya is an alt pop artist with a musicality that is fun and flirty. There are a lot of stylistic elements that she brings effortlessly into her pop, making it so vivacious. Her latest release is ‘Drunk Texting’, a track that light-heartedly explores the chaos and drama of the thematic phenomenon. She takes a Latin beat, makes a groovy rhythm out of it for the base layer. Building it up with colorful synths, hearty vocal lines, and decorative harmonies, it becomes a sensation.

There are also fluid hip-hop influences riding into the song, capitalising on the energy there. Albeit brief, the beats are so energy hungry and the verses emerge like street rap within the arena of electro pop. All in all, a memorable song that you would want to bring to your night outs.
