Song Review/ Alt Rock : St. Divine’s ‘Swallow’

St Divine is an alt rock duo with an idea of rock that walks the unconventional road. It has a creative, artsy dimension but also a rough, experimental edge, all of it meeting at points of new melodies and fresh perspectives. Their latest release is ‘Swallow’, a textured rock song whose classic rock is waylaid with a Beatlesque folk and funk, and an 80s and 90s alternative feel.

The instrumental mesh has a rhythmic logic and language of its own, feeding the unpredictable vocal flows, its mercurial emotions. As warm baritones are intersected by the cool breeze of bluesy Janis Joplin vocals, the soundscape is made so artful, fractured but so fresh. It is its own world with its own rules and unique sonic contexts. Listen Now!
