Song Review/ Country : Wattmore’s ‘Canadian Whiskey’

Wattmore is a country style brother duo that try to find their way with their music. Blending comical lyrical strips with sarcasm, satire, and a sass that will make you laugh out loud, they have such a fresh style and worldview. Their latest release is ‘Canadian Whiskey’, a honky tonk track full of sharp tones and twangs. They stumble through its dynamism, combining it with vocal and instrumental histrionics.

The song is a critique on the political policies of the USA, poking fun at it by boycotting its liquor. It is fun, petty and light-hearted while addressing the deep-rooted violence that make up the country. Reference to Ukraine tells the listener who the boys side with, while also reminding us of the antagonistic role that America played in the Ukraine war. Can’t get a better Satirical song than this.
