Song Review/ Folk Rock : Gedalya’s ‘Just One Cigarette’

Gedalya Folk Rock Rabbi has just released his latest single, ‘Just One Cigarette’, a track that lifts into the experience of being a smoker. Encapsulated in the tale of one smoker who knows it’s bad for him but wants to do it anyway. The artist crafts the folk rock track with a romanticism, a fluid commentary that is more an exchange of ideas and thoughts about the theme than it is about anything else.

The vocals have a casual mood, as it draws on over the bare acoustics and the distant accordion. As the soundscape develops, it gains a buoyant rock beat structure which suits the theme quite well. As the smoker lives from cigarette to cigarette, each one has a story, a state of mind. And to live like that can be a beautiful thing. No one died of just one cigarette anyway, right? It is feel-good and so charmingly human. Listen Now!

Check out their Instagram, Facebook, and X!

The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
