Song Review/ Indie Rock : ToSpaceWeGo’s ‘Lives I’ve Wasted Willingly’
ToSpaceWeGo is an alternative band that flies to planes that are rare and underrated. For their latest release, ‘Lives I’ve Wasted Willingly’, they soar through a twilight sky, so mellow, dreamy and softly technicolor. It casts us in contemplative moods, a timelines that seems to be moving backwards into the past. They pair slow burning guitar riffs with glassy tones, dull melodies, and an encompassing instrumental haze. It is such a layered composition both stylistically and thematically. The latter manifests as a swimming combination between nostalgia, heartache, and retrospective wisdom. It nicely rises into each other, creating a valley of memories all playing out distinctly and simultaneously.
And in all its dim glory, the soundscape seems to be an intimate, surreal place that walks on the edge of reality and dreams, wishes and regrets, desires and feelings. It is all interwoven like the threads of fate. And while this is all initially defined with a bluesy alt rock ambience, they all mesh together and all combine towards the end and emerge as a sublime jazz frame. This band truly stands for the stylistic essence of alternative, going wherever led, envisioning a space that is uniquely theirs. Listen Now!
