Song Review/ Jazz : Ari Joshua’s ‘Pork Fat’

The fun, funk, groove, and sizzle of pork fat. That’s what Ari Joshua’s latest release is about. Featuring the talent and passionate performances of Delvon Lamarr, Grant Schroff, and Skerik, the song is a psychedelic art rock, jazz blues fusion. ‘Pork Fat’ starts off with a mellow gradient of music. Bright rolling melodies, kicking grooves, and a shuffling beat. It falls away then from a summer meadow to a desert night sky.

The psychedelics and blues come out to play, an expressive guitar solo that is a whole world of emotion by itself. Action comes in the form of faded police car sirens and gun shots in the backdrop. You can almost imagine a two dimensional cartoon scape, changing frame to frame. The jazzy accordions and blues come on again with the funk and the silliness. And just like that you keep rolling around an alternating globe of frames, so detailed and complex that you’ll want to stay and immerse. Listen Now!
