Song Review/ Tango : El Cachivache Quinteto’s ‘Chacabuco’
El Cachivache Quinteto is an Argentinian tango band who explore the underworld of the genre. Sometimes on confluence with other genres like rock, jazz, and blues. Their latest release is their studio album, ‘Dance me to the end of noise’, a collection that features such vivid pieces of music. The compositions are artsy and abstract, with a Dali-esque chaos built into it.
Each track brings up so much imagery, so many worlds and it’s a delight to go through them. Taken from the collection is ‘Chacabuco’, a mellow track that has such an ambivalent atmosphere. It is moody, sensual and cast in a dim light that takes you away. With the slow progressions of the classical accordion, the lightness of the piano melodies, you are reminded of a romantic moonlit night, stone castles, and a melancholic story to tell. All culminating in a fantastical imagination that you want to keep reliving. Listen Now!
