Album Review/ EDM : ARKBS’s ‘Trance Vol. 3 - Echoes of Forever’

ARKBS is an EDM artist and producer. With sweeping soundscapes and lofty builds, his music is cinematic and immersive. The artist strives to completely dip the listener into the synth oceans that he brews masterfully. His latest release is the ‘Trance Vol. 3 - Echoes of Forever’ album, an eight track collection that showcases the beautiful stretches of infinity.

Every track is designed to propel you into a whole different world of feeling. There’s a lot of abstract planes that he connects with human emotion and experience to make it meaningful. Also, there is so much dance. Movement and music, coming together in an explorative and performative way to awaken a dynamic spirit. 

‘I Am Waiting’ opens the album. It sets the mood with its fresh synths, expansive melodies and vocal sentiments. Encompassed in love and heartache, you can really feel the push and pull of these two events, the complex tangle of one with the other. The artist leans into it, dilates it till you are in it and then goes into a powerful lift. The magic of an incomplete love story, when you know there’s more coming, he plays into that frame to draw the listener in deeper. 

‘Always With You’ is a softly euphoric piece. The vocals fade into an encircling melodic whisper. It ripples as it spreads into the soundscape. This track has a very naturally infinite rhythm built into, that brings the theme to light. There are enchanting synth builds and soft drops in the latter half of the song. It magnifies the feeling, the sound and the song. There’s an unstoppability to the track that keeps leading you in more and more. 

The tracks ‘Forever Calling’ and ‘Eternal Horizon’ also have this type of an expansive synth circumference. The journey through these songs is contained in the space that the artist opens up around you. It’s incredible how elegant the design is and how intricate the craft. 

‘Fractured Light’ and ‘Digital Heartbreak’ have more pronounced grooves. The artist plays with textures, tempo and power, using bold electronica to bring these cathartic themes to life. There are dark planes that run through these soundscapes, scenes of dark pop that are deepened with techno and hard techno builds. 

‘In Your Arms’ concludes the album. With its two versions, female and male, the artist puts up an intoxicating love song. That feeling of falling in love and knowing deep in your bones that that is your person. That’s what makes up these tracks. The artist is so good with creating and shaping the magic that love feels like. He forges it with so much dimension, setting up contrasts for it and stages for its stories. This album is definitely a masterpiece in terms of thematic sophistication and sound design. Listen Now!
