Album Review/ Electronica : Horizonte Lied’s ‘Nuevos Horizontes’

Horizonte Lied is an experimental band that dive into the plane of dark electronica and alternative music to create new spaces. Their style is largely explorative, going where the craft takes them. They don’t shy away from anything. Everything is fair game. It’s about the authenticity of the artistic process. So don’t be scared off by the vivid textures and the possibilities of darkness because they always bring an interesting dimension or energy to these scenes.

Their latest release is the ‘Nuevos Horizontes’ EP, a collection that gives itself to the labyrinthine nature of alternative art. The music shudders with mysteries and secrets, with moments of visceral sounds and musical features. It’s intense, compelling and full of angst. 

The EP is a five track collection. ‘El Día Después’. The track is atmospheric with webbing lines of texture and vocals. It is made with echoes. Each melody, each moment has a shadow that deepens and darkens in its wake. Its horror goth illuminates a whole new plane of consciousness. If the first track was an introductory atmosphere, one that sets the stage and details the backdrop, ‘Oculto En Tus Ojos’ emerges from that world. It builds into a feeling and a story. A dark electronic orchestra. We see crisp grooves and dimensionalizing basslines. The vocals are a long saga that journeys through the storm of the song. 

‘Tu Enigma’ is a rich electronic soundscape with a crackling darkness that sails underneath it. Connecting the surface and the deep ethos is a groove motif that keeps passing the pulse of one to another. ‘Punto Crucial’ is an emphatic body of electronica. With bold beats, chromatic synths, and dramatic lifts, the track is cavernously electronic. It is bold and strong enough to occupy a whole world it seems. Immersing and consuming it is a great penultimate track. ‘Romper Una Era’ concludes the track with a melodrama that journeys through horror and  heartache. It’s a lament through a streaming frame, with orchestral work that sweeps you to a whole other plane of existence and reality. Listen Now!
