Song Review/ Grunge : Under-Volt’s ‘Over-Ride’
Under-Volt is a progressive blues rock duo from Edinburgh. They have such an incredible way of blending grunge grit with moody blues, to create an atmosphere of darkness and intrigue. Their latest release is ‘Over-Ride’, a track that perfectly captures the essence of this duo. It’s a riff driven soundscape, made with restless guitar patterns and dark chromatic melodies to bring the theme to life.
There is a muted dynamism that runs across the track. Despite the deep seatedness of it, you can feel it crawl up the back. The geared grooves and progressive guitar work will take you right out of this world. It’s so compelling that they will override your sense of reality and suck you into its edgy and moorish cliffs of grunge blues. The perfect way to describe their sound is if Soundgarden meets Clutch meets King’s X. Listen Now!
