Song Review/ Alt Rap : Uzisky’s ‘Hit Different’
Uzisky is not just any rap / hip-hop artist. She involves her music in a cinematic scene. A presentation that has a mood, a story and an ambience. With wordless atmospheres, she creates context for her verses to come alive. It’s a very modern interpretation of the style. Her latest release is ‘Hit Different’, an alt track that really stands out in its stylistic interactions. The artist explores a melodic hip-hop flow with alt R&B panels and rock guitar planes.
The soft moments are held up by the bolder and stronger elements. You’ll see some trap and cloud rap elements. However, it’s unique, especially in the way it wraps around her theme. The nonchalance, almost deadpan emotion of her vocal delivery feeds the atmosphere more. There’s a French verse bridge that embroils the listener in an alt sensual mood. A charming overlap of mainstream styles to create a new and refreshing atmosphere. Listen Now!
