Song Review/ Alt Rock : Jetlag’s ‘Wicked Tongue’

The alt rock band from London, Jetlag have just released their latest track, ‘Wicked Tongue’. The song has a serpentine rhythm. This snaking flow disperses into the soundscape, its moody and cerebral sensibilities spraying softly like chemtrails. Jetlag as a band have a very complex alternative style. It’s not usual, commonplace alt rock. Their sound progressions represent ethos of their banner.

It’s muted chaos surrounded by mundanity, and they ways in which they interact. It’s a mind funk each time, their songs curving and warping all semblances of normalcy, building up into jet-lagged absurdity. And this track is no different. The track is constantly travelling, the unrest manifesting as dynamic thoughts and musical psychedelics. We see a lot of post punk accents, a hard rock call all of it ending in a drifting and unending drawl that you cannot get enough of.
