Song Review/ Dream Pop : Songbirds + Sirens’ ‘Somewhere’
No one does atmospheric dream pop like Songbirds + Sirens. The husband-wife duo have a very evocative style, with such powerful moments of music. Their latest release is ‘Somewhere’, a track that has its emotional center in grief, unanswered questions and a search for hope. The theme is absorbed into the soundscape so well. You’ll see layered electronica, cinematic synths and lush vocals that transport you to an ethereal plane.
The feeling is in everything. In fact there’s a lot of tactile movements, textures and hues that keep you immersive throughout the song. The airy vocals, shimmering melodies and intimate lyricism is directly reminiscent of artists like The Japanese House, London Grammar, and Beach House. If you like infinite spaces and ethereal highways in your music, then this track is perfect for you. Listen Now!
