Song Review/ Indie Pop : Ava Valianti’s ‘Buttercups’

Ava Valianti’s alternative spheres are creative. They are not your usual predictable stylistic combination, but carry a lot of thoughtful depth and thematic exploration. Her latest release is ‘Buttercups’, a song that combines themes of love, romance, and spring time imagery. She brings that sunny yellow chromatism and feeling to a dream pop introduction. It is flavored with the misted glass of alt folk accents, showcasing the vulnerability of the protagonist.

It is bare and raw, but also so lovely and softly refreshing. In the third act, we see an indie pop burst, warming up with riffs and beats. Her vocals take on a descriptive tone, commercial pop, Taylor Swift culture in a rock atmosphere. Across the track, we get to see so much of the artist’s sonic style, her fluid expression, especially her ability to portray themes immersively and elaborately. Listen Now!
