Song Review/ Piano Instrumental : Jacqueline Cordes’ ‘Illusions of Amethyst’
Jacqueline Cordes is a pianist and a composer who imagines dream worlds with her music. With progressing keys and melodies, she details worlds that are imbibed with emotions simultaneously. It is cinematic, surreal, with a lot of mystical and supernatural imagery. Like in her latest single, ‘Illusions of Amethyst’, she uses flowing melodies to set up a misty scene. Ethereal ascents swirling at the fringes, delicate and gossamer, slowly growing in its magic and mystery. We see angelic chorals and harmonies crescending, a projective peak. Fairytale theatrics, deeply expressive and moving, achingly beautiful. There is both a grandeur and boundlessness to it.
The best way to listen to her music is to let it all go. To let yourself be consumed by her worlds. To go into its details, allow it to fill your mind, drift into that imagination space. It can be so enriching and full of wonder. Her music would readily belong in movies like Beauty and the Beast, Narnia, Maleficent. Any fantasy film that explores a super-reality. She doesn’t just find beauty but she crafts it, one melody at a time and it’s such a pleasure to just let yourself become enamored by it. Listen Now!
