Song Review/ Instrumental : Martin Lloyd Howard’s ‘Selene’
Martin Lloyd Howard is a composer and guitarist. He crafts his instrumentals with so much soul. They’re so human that they don’t need lyrics to express the thematic quotients. Just a sway of melody that says it all. In his track, ‘Selene’, the artist weaves a thin string of acoustic guitar across a dreamy summer night. The melodies are light, floating and flirting like a dragon fly at dusk; catching the color of the sunset and spreading it to the next frame.
There’s nothing by the raw string. But the memories and emotions that they are drawn from casts a whole scenery, a backdrop with such rich details, nuances and complexities. It all just opens up in your imaginative eye, an unspoken language transferring from the artist to the listener. It’s incredible how much of a speculation and story he brings about in his mind, by saying so little, by playing so little. It’s so elegant and delightfully confounding. Listen Now!
