Song Review/ Rock : Bleak’s ‘The Wave’
Imagine Bleak’s latest song, ‘The Wave’, as an atmospheric space that delves into the drive, depths, current, and spirit of waves. It is stormy, so ominous and dark; an alt rock song that is made with theatrics, performative allure and a lofty vision. Given all of this, it is spectacularly executed. Because once you’re in it, you’ll crash onto nu metal shores with a psychedelic stroke of genius. Hard rock is driven to a whole new level. It has that OG rockstar kind of feeling. Think 70s Pink Floyd with their expansive and willfully absurd and transcendental musical spaces. That’s exactly the vibe here as well.
The song is so powerful, compelling. The riffs, basslines and drums seem to carry a vastness inside them, a kind of purgatory gloom that they skillfully wield on the scene. The middle-eastern and Asian vocal tangents further confound the listener, draw them in deeper, into this unbelievable labyrinth of a song. Once you’re in, it’s the best thing ever. Listen Now!
