Song Review/ Rock : FORRM’s ‘PALAZZO’

FORRM throws it back to the 60s and 70s rock, when colors were in vogue and psychedelics were the bread and butter. Their songs don’t just present music, but musical ideas and musical cinemas that sweep across the inner landscapes of the mind. They’re unafraid to play with texture and world-build phenomenally. ‘PALAZZO’ is the band’s latest single. Based in Paris and New York, they bring the chaos and characters of those cities, the bustle, the variety and the fluidity. With a musical atmosphere that is stained with classic rock, jazz saxophones, blues, and edgy alt rock sensibilities.

Think bands like GOAT and Can meeting stylistic sensibilities of Kikagaku Moyo and Dungen. It’s that keen blend of repetitive grooves, fuzzy guitars, colorful melodies, and free-flowing experimental rock. The vocals have a strong and distinct individuality to them, anchoring the divergence in the rest of the soundscape. And just like that, they keep showing you drifting rock scenery that you can keep travelling with.
